The role requires the successful applicant to be responsible for executing / managing / monitoring equipment orders from the initial tendering stages through to completion, including onsite commissioning activities where required. Able to interpret contract documentation, both commercially and technically is of primary importance to this responsible role, ensuring equipment is manufactured and supplied in accordance with industry regulations and project specifications, including post manufacture product documentation / certification / instruction manuals. Overseeing manufacture and liaising with production management, monitoring costs are of paramount importance, including ongoing continuous improvement to enhance products technically and commercially.
The development of the role will include the candidate to produce equipment proposals, from the initial enquiry stage, compiling costs and engaging in negotiations prior to customer order placements
Key skills / attributes / qualifications expected for the role include (experience of such will be considered backed by evidence):-
- Mechanical engineering qualification / knowledge with a good understanding of electrical engineering (an electrical bias with mechanical experience will be considered)
- A good understanding of materials handling equipment, from both technical and manufacturing aspects, (screw conveyors, mixers, belt conveying, metering feeders, discharging aids)
- Project / contract engineering management
- Being IT literate and conversant with Microsoft office software and Autocad
